Reputant ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. We comply with applicable Canadian privacy laws, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information in accordance with PIPEDA requirements.

By accessing or using Reputant, you consent to the data practices described in this privacy policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our platform.

2.1 Information You Provide to Us

  • Account Information: When you register for Reputant, we collect your name, email address, business name, phone number, and password.
  • Business Information: Information about your business locations, business categories, and other details you provide to set up your profile.
  • Payment Information: We may provide paid products and/or services within the services offered by Reputatn. In that case, we use third-party services for payment processing (e.g. payment processors). We will not store or collect your payment card details. That information is provided directly to our third-party payment processors, whose use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy.   • Communication Information: Information you provide when contacting our support team or responding to surveys.

2.2 Information We Collect Automatically

  • Usage Data: Information about how you interact with our platform, including features used, time spent, and actions taken.
  • Device Information: Information about the device used to access our platform, including device type, operating system, and browser type.
  • Log Data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time and date of visits, time spent on pages, and other diagnostic data.

2.3 Information We Collect from Third Parties

  • Review Data: Reviews and ratings from platforms such as Google, Facebook, and other review sites that you connect to your Reputant account. To respond to reviews or communications with our customers – We may use your personal information to respond to reviews or ratings you posted regarding our customers. This is one of the many services offered to our customers. If our customer subscribes to this service, we will use your personal information only to respond to you and for no other purpose. To send content, promotions, surveys or other products at the request of our customers - To send customers information, promotions, surveys, and other products on behalf of our customers.
  • Social Media Information: If you connect your social media accounts, we may collect information from those accounts.
  • Business Listing Information: Data from business listing sites and directories related to your business.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our platform
  • Set up and manage your account
  • Process transactions and send related information
  • Aggregate and analyze reviews from connected platforms
  • Generate insights and reports about your online reputation
  • Respond to your requests, questions, and concerns

4. Data Deletion Request

If you wish to delete your account or any data processed by Reputant, you can do so by following these steps:

  • Contact Us Directly: Send an email to support@reputant.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." Please include your account details (email address used for registration) for verification purposes.
  • Account Deletion: Log in to your SocialBu account, navigate to the Account Settings, and follow the steps under the Delete Account section. This will initiate the deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Facebook Data: If you wish to remove the permissions and data shared with SocialBu through Facebook APIs, you can do so by:
  • Visiting the Facebook Settings page.
  • Navigating to Apps and Websites and removing SocialBu from the list of active integrations.
  • Once your request is received, we will process it in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Please note that some data may need to be retained to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
  • You can also delete the Facebook account's data by removing the account from SocialBu. To do this, log in to your SocialBu account, navigate to the Social Accounts, and delete the account. This will initiate the deletion of your account and associated data.

6.1 Google API Services

Our platform integrates with Google API Services to collect and display review data from Google My Business and provide keyword ranking information. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless we have obtained the user's explicit consent, it is necessary for security purposes (such as investigating abuse), to comply with applicable laws, or for our platform's internal operations as long as the data remains aggregated and anonymized. When you connect your Google account, we adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including:

  • Limited Use: We access, use, store, and transfer Google user data according to Google API Services User Data Policy.
  • We only request necessary data required to provide our services.
  • We do not sell Google user data or use it for advertising purposes.
  • We provide clear and accurate information about what data we access and how we use it.

Similar principles apply to other third-party services we integrate with, such as Facebook and other review platforms.

7. Data Retention and Transfer

We will retain your information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Your personal data may be stored or processed outside of Canada, including in the United States. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in compliance with PIPEDA.

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction.

If you are located outside Canada and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to Canada and process it there.

Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.

Reputant will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of your Personal Data will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your data and other personal information.

The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Our platform may contain links to third-party websites, services, or applications that are not operated by Reputant. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.

We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services. Your use of such third-party services is at your own risk.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to track website traffic, usage patterns, and interactions on our platform. Google Analytics collects data such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on our site. This information is used to analyze trends and improve our services.
